WELCOME TO YOUR SHINING BRIGHT FUTURE
The BEST source for learning IELTS and improving IELTS test scores.
Quite simply, most teachers of IELTS in China have NO IDEA about what is really important, and so they just copy copy copy what others have done in the past, HOPING that it will still work (and not knowing WHY it worked!) And, thus, they focus on the WRONG things!
And so, if the TEACHERS don’t know, then how can they effectively teach their students? (Answer: they can’t!)
Shining Bright Future therefore focuses on what is important in the IELTS test, teaching both teachers and students to help them get a higher score.
Shining Bright Future is also VERY interested in doing research into how IELTS is taught in China, so that others may learn from it. And, also, we read the research – especially the IELTS specific research – that has been conducted. For example, Pegg and Wray’s ‘The effect of memorized learning on the writing scores of Chinese IELTS test-takers’ which is still as relevant today as it was in 2005, as it basically explains why Chinese test takers do not score 6.0 or higher on average for writing.
Shining Bright Future knows the issues students have with IELTS, and has the knowledge and skills to overcome these issues to score higher!
Why you should use us!
BEST TEACHERS

There are a LOT of IELTS teachers out there in schools and private training centres. Now, there are even a lot of former IELTS examiners teaching IELTS.

THEY ARE NOT ALL THE SAME!

Firstly, many former examiners DON'T teach you good academic writing skills! There IS a formula for writing the two tasks of the IELTS academic test. It's a formula used at universities, and has been in practice for many many years. There's also a way to ARGUE that needs to be taught. The Task 2 isn't just a paper - in the field of linguistics, it's called an 'argumentative' essay. They must be written in a particular way, using a special writing style and format.

Nor do they teach you to THINK about the question in such a way as to get you higher scores. To score higher for the Task criteria, you need to be able to think BEYOND what is merely written on the question page. SBF will teach you to do this.

VIDEO COURSES

The ShuoShuoYaSi (说说雅思) video course is 15 videos of the most important things you NEED to know to get a better score in the IELTS test. It takes you from explaining the very beginnings of the tests that you will do, right through to telling you what (and how!) you need to do to get higher scores - over 7, and finally, answers questions that many of you have.

Written and directed by former IELTS examiner Taliesin ap Ceridwen, the ShuoShuoYaSi course will tell you things that NOT OTHER TEACHER will tell you! In fact, you'll often find that you'll be taught ESSENTIAL facts that are the OPPOSITE of what many teachers will tell you. For example, there are many teacher who will tell you that the Part 3 in the Speaking test is only for higher level students. THIS IS 100% FALSE! Part 3, for EVERYONE, affects the final score! It can send your score DOWN, or it can take your score UP. It all depends on how well you perform.

GREAT RESULTS
Shining Bright Future teachers are highly-trained and qualified in the field of IELTS and tertiary level academic writing, from internationally famous universities. They also have years of teaching experience here in China.

Shining Bright Future teachers teach ONLY what's actually needed to attain the scores you want - NOT just the same old rubbish that most teachers are teaching (which only give 5.5 scores). Also, by focussing on what NEEDS to be taught, you can attain the score you want MUCH FASTER!

SBF also uses the results of international research to inform teaching. That means students will be taught things that NO OTHER SCHOOL is teaching!

I learnt a lot from this course. It was a new formula I have ever known before. It’s really helpful to write logically and influencely. And I know that we should give more evidence to support our opinions. What’s more, I also taught to find the key points which are too hard to be notice.

Taliesin is an experienced IELTS examiner as well as teacher. I spent about two weeks with him before taking my first IELTS exam and the result was satisfying. He can spot your weakness in a few hours and then make you work on it efficiently. He is a thoughtful person and gives great care about his students. I really enjoyed the time spent with him.

WHAT WE TEACH
Shining Bright Future teaches what you, the student or IELTS teacher, NEEDS to know to get a higher score.
For IELTS test-takers, we allow your local teacher to teach what they know, and focus on what they don’t know to improve scores. This generally means that the local teacher will concentrate on teaching vocabulary and grammar, while SBF teaches writing style, coherence and cohesion, and pronunciation features.
For IELTS teachers, we teach the above language features in a way that directly relates to the marking criteria (using the PUBLIC VERSION), as well as the features of academic writing that are not usually taught in Chinese schools and universities.
